California drought: State residents cut water use 27 percent in June, beating state targets

In a sign that state residents finally have let their lawns go brown in large numbers to conserve water amid the historic drought, Californians cut their water use 27.3 percent in June, the second month in a row they have met Gov. Jerry Brown’s 25 percent target.
